Accommodation in the Disney area is generally either hotel/motel or a villa situated on one of the many developments surrounding the area. When it comes to price comparisons it does, to some extent, depend on the number of guests in the party. When it comes to convenience and comfort the villa option wins hands down.

Villas are becoming increasingly more popular due to the flexibility this type of accommodation can offer the family. It certainly offers a more settled environment for families, especially those with children. Parents can enjoy the later evening knowing their younger ones are safely tucked up in bed whilst they enjoy a glass of wine or a cold beer in the comfort of the lounge area or poolside. A routine which probably follows a similar pattern at home. Older children, on the other hand, can enjoy a game of pool, a swim in the pool or a tv program of their choice whilst parents relax knowing everyone is within shouting distance!

Sleeping arrangements are also much more civilised with parents having their own room and not having to share with the family. Most hotel rooms sleep four people in two super king beds and encourage room sharing with a cost incentive being an important factor. Many offer a community pool shared with other guests.

Eating out can become expensive if you have to eat out every mealtime. The various enticing restaurants that are famous for the big American breakfast, the 'all you can eat' buffets, the steak bars and restaurants offering mouth-watering foreign delights can quickly use up your hard earned spending money. Should you choose the villa option, breakfast can be served at a time convenient to you, snacks can also be enjoyed by the pool and the evening meal can be prepared and enjoyed accompanied by a bottle of wine. No falling out about who needs to be the 'designated driver'. Eating breakfast at 'home' and easily prepared handy mid-day snacks for hungry kids can save you a fortune! Just think about the cost of a round of drinks or a cup of coffee. Eat out when you want to - not because you have to!

Many villas now offer cable tv in bedrooms as well as the family room. Again flexibility is the operative word. Everyone can choose to watch what they want to watch. The internet has become an important part of our everyday life and almost every villa now has wifi. Keep in touch with family and friends at home and bring your I pad, I phone, hand held devices, Kindles and laptops.

Laundry facilities are also a must for the family holiday and washers, dryers and irons are standard equipment in all villas.

However, a vehicle is essential if you decide on a villa holiday. It is self-catering and is a home from home throughout your stay. Mid-term cleans can be arranged at a reasonable additional cost should you prefer to have the villa cleaned and bedding changed during your stay. Management companies are at the end of the phone should you need help or advice and are always happy to assist.

A holiday villa is an altogether more pleasant and convenient environment and offers so much more than booking several impersonal hotel rooms or sharing bedrooms with the younger family members to ensure their safety.

The swimming pool at the villa is just for your family use so no overcrowding and no worries about leaving valuables in a public place whilst taking a dip. No need to carry drinks, towels and sun screen products to a community pool.

Relax and enjoy the facilities and convenience of a villa holiday. You deserve it!
